You know how we are talking about taking a car that is the "right" car and making it into "your" car?

This could be a 'right" car for me. I've been watching it since the beginning:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290802262760#ht_500wt_1182

I've asked the seller to contact me should it not sell on ebay.
I didn't put a bid on it because I feel the opening bid is too high.

But in the mean time, I want your feedback on your WIW because I hope I can persue this car further. I'm also going to have to figure a grand to truck it here (1,000 mi.) I have my opinion but it feels good when you harsh critics jump in, too.

Yes, it's a 318, but I can live with that.

For me to go get go up and get it and drive it back would be $700 minimum so the extra $300 to truck it is insurance well spent in my opinion.

I'd see to get better pics first especially closeups from the primered spots. Personally I'd look for a better one even from what I see on these pics. I'd guess there's nothing good lurking under the primered lower quarters. Rear seat torn and is there something covering the dashpanel ? Trunk floor looks oversprayed but solid and the body is at least quite straight from the sheetmetal surface it seems.

Probably got it for a song, drove around one summer and now hopes for selling with a profit.

This is not the first time it has been listed. Many more photos would be needed if not someone from the drydock would need to look at it. $2,500.00 is good for both the seller and the buyer. That is seeing what I am seeing with no surprises.

You nailed it. I figured 25 hundred bucks TOPS and after an inspection or a 100 pics. Needed comfirmation. Let him take it from here.

$2500 seems like a fair price to me. I don't know if the seller would settle for that. There wasn't any bids on the car?

That Newport has suddenly made this car a lot less attractive.

I didn't need that seductive red head to come into my life at this time...

I'm going to bed. That red head is going to haunt me all night. We'll see if she's as beautiful in the morning as when I met her.

Yeah but the redhead will start out as a long distance affair and will be quite costly to get over that hurdle. I have a friend that transports cars for a living let me know if you want to get a quote from him. He will give you a good deal if you let him work his way back and forth accross the country(he has a two place open) on his own time frame. He has transported cars for me at literally a fraction of what it would have cost me to go get them myself just because he didn't want to come back with an empty spot.

So, how's she looking this morning??

I msg'd the seller of the Polara about movement on the price perhaps if the auction ends w/o a bid.
His reply:

there is little to no room to work on that price ....$371 a/c $200 BRAKES $600 IN TIRES AND WHEELs = $1171 in the last 3000 miles or so but you can contact back later if you choose

Hello, Red?

So because he's upside down, you have to take the hit.....orrrrrr....... what? He keeps it forever?

I probably had ten grand in my brown 71 including shipping (950.00) and the purchase price of $1,200.00. Everything else was work that had been done to the car. My asking price was four grand..... I was realistic.

Sorry............I thought you were talking about this redhead
