For Sale 68 Sportsgrain $750750

Not sure how much interest in this but here goes. 68 Newport Sportsgrain. No motor but everything else is there including transmission. Does have rust. Car came from Texas and needs patches on all corners. Patch panels that i cut off of a parts carare included. Trunk floor is scaly but solid except for a small hole on the right side. Roof has some damage on the front edge. Interior is pretty nice except for the seats being redone like school bus seats. Dash is perfect as are door panels and headliner. If nobody wants to restore this it would be a great parts car. $750. Pm me here if interested.

I think $750k is a little over the mark, ;) but I hope it gets restored.

This would be the type of car I wouldn't feel a ton of obligation to do-up exactly as OEM. I'd really embrace the retro-40s look and do a Highlander interior:

Next, I've always thought woodgrain cars/wagons look best in dark colors, so that would be my first change. Let's go with dark blue. That would get you something that looked a bit like this:

Now, for powertrain... A modern Hemi too obvious. 1st gen Hemi, maybe.. How about this? We aren't going racing, and we'll throw an overdrive behind it if we can clear the hood...
