Just purchased a 69 300 and the orignal radio had been removed. It was sold with what was said to be the original radio but upon further inspection i dont believe so. It seems the radio i was given with the sale is about 8 inches deep and the conrols for the a/c blower are about 5 1/2 inches deep. Therefore i do not see how it would fit.

Was there a shorter radio for A/C cars? Also, does the dash have to be removed to put in the radio?

please see attached pictures for more clarification.

That looks like the correct radio........ and it's an easy install.

You need to remove the entire ash tray and bracket..... The radio will slide up from below. Then there are two phillips screws that go in from the bottom/front of the radio, and a bracket that supports the rear of the radio to the lower dash lip. Power....speaker and antenna wires....

I've changed mine out in ten minutes.
Again....... I recommend a factory Service manual....

Do you have any pics of the support from the rear of the radio to the lower dash lip. I don't believe I have one and was thinking I could maybe mock one up. Everything else you said was spot on. Thanks for your help
