I just got this message from this gentleman, he has this car for sale:

"Looking for a convertible I have one I would sell to make room. I have a 69 Chrysler 300 convertible, origianlly a Texas car. Car was originally R4(?) red is now painted 95 Viper red. White interior/top. Bucket seats, center console shifted auto, has all a/c parts not working. Has Am/FM 8 track, power driver seat, poser windows, p/disc front brakes. Car repainted 5 years ago, maybe 1000 miles on car since painted. Original 440 engine, 100,000 plus mileage. Heads were replaced with new ones that have the hardened seats. I did replace timing chain, oil pump and put a 484 purple shafte cam in car. Transmission completely rebuilt and new dual exhaust. Bumpers were chromed by a guy in Erie, PA. Send me an email at kevin60brd@aol.com if you want pictures or call 440-582-3589. Would like $17500 for car. Located near Cleveland, OH."

Sounds like a sister to Will's car!

Really does..... park them next to one another and i'd have to try my keys to fine mine.....:thinker:.... My A/C works though....

Bet it won't happen with my 61 Fury vert.

Not for everyone....

Convertible people dont need air

I kinda like it.... but then I live in a place where it can make a real difference.... Even with the top down.

Because your not convertible people..!

True... you are or you are not convertible people. My top goes up only during natural weather disasters.
Theres something special about being out in the open air with the sun on your shoulders..... Or rolling through a thunderstorm at 65 MPH and not getting wet.
Driving is much more of an adventure in an open car as opposed to riding in a glass cabin.

Perhaps I'll will change my mind about convertibles when I'm older, but right now I just see it as a passing novelty.

I'd need a blood transfusion then.
Knew a guy who about never opened his top cause he hated the dust he got in the car.
He also had towels over the leather, so the sweat wouldn't stain it. LOL

I tend to agree for the most part. That said, I sure wish I had air when I drove through death valley a few years ago in my 69. The choice then was bake (top up) or broil (top down). We chose bake with the back window down for more flow through. The sun beating down on you mid-day would have been a killer.

The buzzards were circling..........

Could happen. I started driving in 64 and always had a appreciation for convertibles, but also had a insatiable need for speed and performance. For the next 40 years I owned some kind of HP, light weight big motor mopar. It just isn't the same anymore.
The demise of the carburator and advance of fuel injection and electronics, while effecient, bored me. I'm an analog man.

These days I get an equal dose of satisfaction rolling down a long country road with the top laid back, zero exhaust noise and Jimmy Buffett or Bob segar singing to me.

The hardest part is deciding which of the four convertibles to drive. So.... I think it has to be in your blood.... a transfusion might not do it, but one can always hope.
