The metal dash panel into which all the gages mount and which mounts under the front of the dash pad. Are the AC dash panels the same for 69, 70, 71?

If it helps, this is the '69 one.

Looking at your user name, I would presume you are speaking of the Fury line?

I think the one pictured above is of Vodkas Imperial

I'm sorry. I was speaking of the Fury line. Not the Imperials. I know the 1970 and 69 dash pads are the same, except for the fake wooden trim on the 70 above the glove. I was trying to find out about AC Dash panels across Fury for 69-71.

I really wanna say yes they are. The variations I am aware of is the ignition switch, the lower trim panel and the dash pad itself as you pointed out.

I was looking to replace a 1969 dash panel. The 69 ignition switch is inset on the left side of the panel. The 70-71 switches are on the column. At best, the 70-71 panels could be used for repair, but not replace. Polara71 nailed the difference in his post.

70 Panel Pics

So you are referring to the actual metal structure of the dashboard, not the pad, not the trim, right?

Yes, I am referring to the 69 Fury metal panel in which the instrument cluster mounts. The metal panel mounts on the bottom of the front of the dash pad. I spent the last 2 nights removing the dash from a 1970 Fury, so we could all look at it. The 1969 installed metal panel looks the same as 70-71 except for the ignition switch. However, the switch actually mounts in the plastic panel under the steering wheel. So it could be that a 70-71 panel would work as long as a hole was drilled for the ignition switch/wiring. I was wondering if anybody knew?
The 1969 picture is from another member's car that is at my home. His metal dash panel is rusted out. If my panel would work, he could avoid an exorbitant shipping charge for an overly long item. He has radio delete, so the damage around the radio area would be irrelevant.
His 69 ignition and my panel are pictured below:

the 69 ignition switch mounts to the metal part of the dash. the plastic cover is just that- a cover.

That's important. Then the structure of the metal behind the plastic cover under the steering wheel is different. Is there any way to alter a 70 dash to make it work with the position of the 69 ignition switch? See Serious problem with 69 dash.

I am not sure. I don't see any openings in the firewall. Maybe a bad leak around the front windshield? Rust hole in the wiper arm valley? Water must travel along bottom of dash pad and then drop onto bare metal rear of dash panel.

i'll take a look tomorrow and see if i can get a picture for you

looks like it was under water

the mount for the switch is stamped into the dash frame. i don't see any way to switch it without cutting it out and welding. even then it would be a tough spot to weld in.
