I think this was regular for cars with no a/c.

That is correct ......

My Classic Garage

1969 Plymouth

Fury

The 1969 Fury was again available as a 2-door coupe, 2-door convertible, 4-door hardtop, 4-door sedan, and 4-door station wagon with Chrysler's new round-sided "Fuselage" styling

With the introduction of the 1969 body style, trim lines once again included the fleet-intended Fury I, volume models Fury II and Fury III, the sport-model Sport Fury and the top-line VIP. The wheelbase was 120 inches, 1.5 inches longer than in 1968, and there was more shoulder room in both front and rear.

Concealed windshield wipers and more curves in the glass helped the shape to be less boxy. 15-inch wheels were standard, and air conditioned two-door hardtops had ventless side windows (other models had vents).

A split-bench front seat (with reclining passenger seat) was available on some models, as well as a new electric seat adjuster that allowed an extra inch of head room. Convertibles had improved header controls for easier release and securing of the top, and the rear seat was widened to nearly 60 inches.

Both the Sport Fury and the Vip had the 318 cui V8 engine as a base power plant. Below that, there was the Fury III and the lesser Fury II and I. Station wagon buyers could chose between the Fury Sport Suburban, Custom Suburban and Suburban. Sport Furys and Fury III's could be had as convertibles.

While the Fury I and Fury II came standard with the slant six engine, they could also be had with more powerful power plants, up to a 375 hp 440 cui V8.

About the vent windows. If you had no a/c, you had vents. If you had a/c you had no vents. My first had no vents, no a/c, but had ac delete on the build sheet.
