That one is rough. Can't imagine what the hinge pillar looks like under that damage.

If it is a factory 440 car than it is worth saving

Man, you want to save everything!:head_smack:

I've sent an email, if he responds with more pics I might be able to take a trip up there on Saturday and post a condition report. I still think $1900 is too high for the condition, that hinge pillar repair is no easy task, a lot more difficult than rust, IMHO.

Never done body work, so this may be a dumb question - is it possible to cut out that whole pillar and weld in a replacement from a rusted out donor car?

I dunno. I'm betting there is enough unibody structure, including the cowl, to make it prohibitively expensive.

Ironically, you would still have to straighten the area out with the frame puller so the new donor part would line up correctly. It wouldn't have to be perfect, but you'd still need the right tools to do it. I had to pull this back into position before I could cut it out and replace it:

What in the world happened to that? That looks like right under the rear window. How did that cross member get so badly bent while further outboard toward the rear of the car looks undamaged?? And thank you for the help! Makes sense once I saw the pictures of your car.

This car has been thru here before. I don't know what happened the first time, there wasn't much interest the first time around I guess.

I don't really know. The car was rescued from the salvage yard, so I think it had a run-in with a forklift. The stub frame is kinked as well.

As for the OP vert, as I expected from Craigslist, I received no response from the seller to my email and he didn't include a phone number in the listing.
