Can someone point me in the direction of the correct reservoir cap for a 69 Newport. I ordered one by application and it is not correct. Thanks in advance.

Reach out to Frank Parks of MoparRestos for assistance with that cap.

Seems like 1969 was the first use of the GM/Saginaw power steering pump? IF so, the part where the cap screws onto will be wider side-to-side under the cap's (smaller) contact area. Other pumps Chrysler used has completely round "tops" in that area.

The Saginaw pump cap is plastic, with a unitized plastic tube for its "dipstick". The outer circumference of the cap will also have more "angles" for easier gripping.

You can find illustrations of the Saginaw pump in the 1970s Chrysler factory service manual or when you look-up a complete pump assy at www.rockauto.com. OR in Mopar parts vendor catalogs that sell conversion kits to put the newer Saginaw pump in the place of the earlier pumps Chrysler used.

They shipped a saginaw style but I believe the Federal style is what it has.

I found a thread with photos of the Federal and the TRW so I should be able to confirm.
Lares and Autozone say type 297 which is Saginaw but I think it should be 293
