rust. imitation soft top rusted out the body.

That right there is a real shame. That car was a real looker and now its not much better than a parts donor. There are hands here that could resurrect it but you would need some mad skills and the shop to do it in let alone the funds. So sad that these end up this way. Give the friggin thing away rather than let it rot.
When I started searching for my 69 Fury many months ago through all the Craig's lists all over the country and other classifieds I would find stuff like this usually. Maybe it's just me but 69 Fury's unless they were convertibles were not taken care of compared to other years. Or they don't hold up as well as other years, I don't know. I saw many 65 to 68's and 70 to 72's but few 69's in decent shape.
I noticed that one too, my first thought was WTF did they think the bondo would accomplish... If I had to guess, I would say the bondo was smeared and sanded in a lame attempt to prepare for a new vinyl top which never came...
