1971 Chrysler Imperial Le Baron - $1900 (Milford)<>

1971 Imperial, 440 cu. in. auto, honeydew with gold interior, dark brown vinyl top. Just out of long term storage 87000 actual miles, some dents very little rust newer exhaust and tires. The engine started up fine first day great oil pressure no noises but next day started running rough. It seems that after cool down the intake valves stick badly enough to cause the pushrods to come out of position. I have never seen this happen before must be the alcohol in the gas now. Have no time to mess with it, CAR MUST BE TOWED, thus price adjusted to reflect current condition. $1900 Call Bill

This is now the third thread on it which means it might not be cheap enough...

Even if you have to replace or rebuild the 440....it's a hell of a deal.

It's too close for me...

Ha ha, what does that even mean..? :) I thought of you, when I saw it was in Detroit, but I also learned, that your not so fond of Fusies ?

If this was anywhere near me (or even a sea port<, I would swallow it whole, and figure out what went wrong with the engine later..!

This is Detroit, if I bought every stray that was a decent deal I would hit critical mass really fast and be hurting for space like I was before I liquidated the cars I collected when I was buying. This one intrigues me but it would just be a flip which would mean I would have to have time to fix it up which I do not. Besides all that I really like the slabbies better.

X2

In fact I have been keeping an eye on the MN '70 New Yorker Coupe rolling shell that has been discussed here before (at least twice)... but this one begins to look tempting. At least it has all the parts in it. A steal of a kit-car-Imp. Nice color combo, too. The Atlantic Ocean is no obstacle here, a slight logistic problem merely.

My understanding is that this car sold for somewhere between $1700 and $1900.

I was seriously thinking about buying that one!

Replace the 440.......easy........turn key car.

Although a good deal this one did almost nothing for me. I don't think it needed a new engine either, just some elbow grease. I know two guys that offered $1500 and both were declined.
