Although other than the quarters it doesn't look too bad!! Pretty straight!! And cheap! If I had extra $ I would jump on it.

Yea it would be a good cruiser for someone. There are so many saveable 2 doors that go to scrap though, I see a disc brake conversion as this cars strength.

Thats what I'm saying!! He says it runs and drives for $1500 that's a pretty fair deal!!

$1,500 is a fair price for that car, if it really does run.

I talked to the seller last night. I am going to look at the car this weekend. If all goes well I plan on driving it the 3 hours back home. Didn't want to post the ad on here quite yet in case someone jumped on it before I could get the chance.

And btw he IS a "derby guy." Said he's smashed a lot of formals :BangHead:; mostly Newports and New Yorkers and said he has some parts. He thought that the car was a little too nice to smash so that's why he is selling it. So you at least have to give him credit for that. Not all derby guys are heartless monsters apparently.

Stayed tuned..

Awesome! Glad you're (possibly) gonna save it.

GOOD NEWS!!! The Newport now has a new home! I love my two formal Imps but have really wanted a fusie and now finally have one! I ended up paying $1100 for it. I also received a truck bed full of parts with it as well. It does run and drive, although not very well. The car bucks/jerks pretty good during acceleration when cold, the choke sticks (not original carb), and while it's equipped with a 383, the car seriously lacks power. I don't think I could squeal the tires on it even if I wanted to. I'm thinking a refresh/rebuild of the carb and trans should solve said issues, but I have yet to dig into it.

Me and a buddy went to a concert this past weekend and I bought it Saturday morning while on our way there. I ended up driving the car home after we left the concert Monday morning at 2am (had to work that morning and only got 2 hours of sleep lol). Only problem we had on the way home was the trans didn't want to shift into 3rd at one point getting onto the highway. Fluid was cherry red and full before we left. Added a half quart of fluid and didn't do it the rest of the way home.

The original window sticker and a lot of the original paperwork is still in the glove box yet. Car was bought brand new in St. Louis Park, MN at Kay Motors. Overall the car is pretty solid, but definitely needs some TLC. My plan is to make a decent reliable summer driver out of her and enjoy her for years to come!

Congrats on the score! Enjoy it for many, many years to come.

Here are some pics of 2 other C-bodies he had, a Monaco and another Newport. Both were really rough and the Monaco had no drivetrain.

Yes I was, and it was a blast! My neck and back took quite a beating though and my hearing still hasn't fully recovered yet lol
