I am looking for a nice used or NOS full set of 6 body side moldings with black inserts for my 71 Polara Brougham 2dr. I figured I would at least see what is available before I decide to remove the molding all together like I plan to.

Probably not. I have a tube of NOS 70s and another tube of NOS 71s. I think I don't have doors. ...
I have a pile of fender moldings

door 3620243 (same as the Fury P-E Spring Special) I have one NOS. another one here:

R/L is the same

other colors were blue, green or gold

there you go: found all of them for you in black in about 10 minutes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could find most of the other colors also using google and the part book.................................

ok ... thats a start ....

All the Body side moldings should cost about $800 - $1000.
And that is my issue with the BSM. I could put that money towards vinyl top carpet and headliner. Or the cylinder heads. I can justify spending on a whole panel that is going to save me a ton of work and headaches. Im on the fence though. Ive seen some cars without and most with and i cant say if i actually prefer one over the other. Scott said ill regret removing them...but does it even matter the car wouldve been parted anyway

Damnit @LocuMob look what youve done to my wallet
That isn't that bad, I don't know what @marty mopar is gonna charge, but that looks like you'd be in around the low end of Dave's estimate. Take a picture of Wildcat and Photoshop the side trim on or off, stare at both, side to side or top and bottom format. Do that for a week, then decide. I'm probably bugging you, just to bug you. A year ago I said I'd never do a full restoration on a car, yet I bought one knowing before I'd even seen it, that I'd be restoring it before I ever drove it. I also said I'd never go the stock route on a car, and I've done that this year too. I blame this site, but I'm all the better for it.

It's your car, do what you want, it's not like the paint will be correct. :poke:

On my first car the intent was to remove them, eventually run doggies maybe that was in 1983. Fast forward to around 2000 when guys startled to take notice of Cs . Many Polaras were left without their BSMs. Usually because it is easier and cheaper.
My opinion is every effort should be taken on this Brougham since you are doing all this other effort.

The BSMs will be part of your finishing touches , why worry now? Leave the pins, if NOS metal , install them.
Your heads, top, interior will be done long before the need for moldings.

fender 70.00 pair from me

door 45.00 for one from Dawson

Qtr 350.00 pair from Dawson (they must be gold plated at that price)

you can look for these numbers I listed here also

partsvoice.com

rearcounter.com

you could also look for the other colors available that year and dye/paint them black (for the door or find other colors cheaper from other vendors)
