I need to pull out my distributor simply to check parts and pieces... Rotor won't turn all the way around consistently. I've removed the one clamp holding down one side and the distributor spins left and right through a half rotation fairly easily but I can't seem to pull it up and out... What am I missing?...

Yep, that's what I thought... *shrug...
Have you ever removed one? One clamp on the one side, I see nothing holding it down...

I have removed many, many Mopar distributors.

It will pull straight out. You may have to wiggle it, but it will come out.

I agree with big john. I don't know what engine you have, but some of the teeth on your oil pump/distributor driveshaft could be toast. That would cause distributor to turn unevenly. See example of 440 driveshaft with OK teeth below. Did you ever get the distributor out?

Sounds like the o ring has dried out or was not lubed when reinstalled. I have run in to stuck dizzys. Tap around the base with a hammer & a wooden dowel or soft aluminum dowel. Spray lube & carefully pull it up with a pry bar.
