Perhaps someone can help I got a new expansion valve today and it has a few extras that I can find with my old one. It has two round plastic things that look like they could be inserted into the diaphram. I suspect all the o-rings are for the hoses & fittings which I already replaced.

I've tried to find a specific diagram w/o any luck

I already got it, just had these strange plastic things in the kit....but I think now its to keep stuff out of the lines before they get replaced. I found out I need 2 gaskets for the lines on the compressor, they apparently don't put them on the new units under the blockoff plates.. The bolts are a bit short for the hoses too. Boy its sure going to be nice when I have cold air.

*Note use care in removing the compresser block off plates the protective caps will fall into the compresser head...arghhh.

LOL wow looks like I get to dive into some fun too. I charged my ac with r12... Man does it get alot colder than R134a.... Got a slight line leak on the right fender well so I'm gonna spend the $$$$ , reclaim the 12, put a $163. napa rebuilt compressor and dryer on , and buy new lines. Where'd did you get your new lines and expansion valve? Rock auto?
