74 fury 440 vacuum diagrahm

I have a 74 fury police car. Need the vacuum diagram. Car is not a CA car and never came with the vacuum amplifier.
 
I have it for a 1978. Not much help since they had LB and a cat on a 1978.

What's for the vacuum amplifier? My 74 fury is a 360 SB but when I bought it this thing was installed but I removed it

NOOOOOOO!!! Put it back on. It's for ALL the vacuum systems in the car. HVAC, Cruise, etc, etc....

OMFG in other forum some peopel told me that would be a good idea to remove it becaus was part of the emission control system.

is there any difference in the hoses if the car was originally a 2BBL but I put a 4BBL on it (aftermarket intake manifold without EGR) ?

mmm so, should I try to hook the vac amplifier again or maybe the car will be fine without it?

PD: in the schematic that you posted back there's an icon of the emission control system air pump but I've never see that pump on my car, is that normal?
 
You need the VIN to get the engine code to see if it was a smog pump car or not originally.
Doesn't matter, really.

Back in the day, a lot of Federal and State vehicles (police, FBI, etc) were exempt from emission controls. It was not unusual to see a police car with a factory EGR delete plate (I have one somewhere) or to be missing AIR pumps, etc as they were never installed. In the early day of emission compliance, the factories did not really know what they were doing and it was more of a knee-jerk sort of thing. Power took a back seat to emission compliance. Since pursuit vehicles need power, they got an exemption. As the factories learned to deal with engine emissions, this exemption became unnecessary.
Anyway, my point being, a police car may have a totally different vacuum diagram than a standard production car would (if it was one of the exempt vehicles).
 
As far a I know.....all Formal Mopar engines except a 400 could have a smog pump. No 400's ever had a smog pump. Both of my 78's Formal's have 400's and even have the smog pump brackets but no smog pumps. My emission diagram doesn't have a smog pump on it either.
 
I think the vacuum diagrams in the FSM will show it with and w/o the pump in it.

The smog era resulted in Chrysler Corp having multiple different emissions packages depending on region, with California and High Altitude (Colorado I guess?) being the most stringent (air pumps and eventually restricted engine availability). Canadian cars often got away with very little in the way of emissions equipment. Catalytic converters weren't mandated in Canada until 1979 and a black sticker was put over the "unleaded fuel only label over the fuel gauge on Formal C bodies.

The 74 FSM I have says the air pump is for California emissions on the 440...doesn't mention any other engine.

My '78 FSM has a myriad of vacuum diagrams. Federal, California, High Altitude, Canada, etc, no smog pump on any 400 engine.
 

I checked again but I can't find that pump so I guess my car doesn't came with it. Also I didn't found the vacuum reservoir and the vacuum amp still unplugged. What should I do with it?
