I have no idea what the market is for these. I always believe if you want the nicest of the nice you gotta dig a bit.
If I'm the seller I'm starting high and see where it goes.

For all I know this is a 5000 car but it sure is nice

I prefer these Lincolns to Cadillacs of the period and wouldn't mind having one, but there are too many Imperials I'd rather own before thinking about a Lincoln.

You just took the words right out of my mouth and brain.

Yes, in that era Lincoln > Cadillac.

And one of the 20th century's sad truths... no Mopar version of this.

So sad MOPAR didn't have a 'Continental' in its stable. I remember a '76 Continental Mark IV I had for a few years. It was the Bill Blass edition with dark blue paint and cream colored side trim and interior accents. It had the 460 engine and those aluminum wheels you some times see hung on an Imperial. That car was the most comfortable road car I ever owned, and above 25MPH it accelerated very fast. I miss it. . .

Just found a photo:

I owned a very clean Mark III. Beautiful car, great materials, excellent power. High speed handling; fail.

I have to imagine someone at Highland Park made a proposal, given that those luxury coupes were so popular. I'd kill to see the sketches.

Remember things come and go in cycles. The popularity of this car now is those who never got one new or newer younger people who want one. That will determine if it sells and for how much. The amount of buyers in this price range will be very limited.
