airparts in Texas makes an update air conditioning conversion to run a sanden compressor with all the brackets, dryer, condenser and hard ware if you had air conditioning from the factory.
Ahh... If the duct work under the dash is intact, you're at a good starting point.
The A/C stuff was missing from my '70 300 and I'm in the middle of getting it all together in my car. I had to source a new evaporator, switch and a couple pieces of duct work for mine. I bought a kit from http://www.bouchillonperformance.com/air_condition . I got everything I need for under the hood. (new Sanborn compressor, cross flow condensor, fittings, hose, etc.)
That will connect to the evaporator in the firewall/dash. The existing switch will control everything and the cool breezes will emit from the dash just like it used to. The difference is under the hood we have a new rotary compressor and a cross flow condensor all set up for R134a refrigerant.
This really isn't too bad to do and is much better than hanging a aftermarket system under the dash.
Thanks for the info big john that's what I will do I'm just missing linkages and 1 door won't shut tight will this still work with original compressor don't won't to change the original look under the hood thanks again mark
There are guys here that have done R134a conversions with the OE compressor and they can answer that question a lot better than I can. The compressor I'm using doesn't look "original" and while they don't look as bad, neither does the crossflow condenser or the hoses.
