A/C pressure switch question.

A quick question or two. Does a '69 New Yorker (AutoTemp 1) have a low pressure switch in the A/C system? When I run the defroster, the compressor kicks on like it should, but I want to make sure I do not burn anything up if the system is low on refrigerant. If it does not, how would I install one?

It has one and if it goes low it will release comp clutch.
