Slab Side Slacker
Seller was very motivated. After declining twice and each time him coming back with a lower price, I relented and brought it home. It's a low optioned 68 Monaco 6 pass wagon 383 2V auto, 8 3/4 rear not sure what gears, 94xxx miles.
The good:
Extremely clean interior, perfect dash, headliner, door panels, one tear on a seam on the rear seat. The underside is very clean, no rust that I can see anywhere, floors are good, all original glass is flawless. Runs and drives nice, shifts good, brakes are touchy and will need to be checked.
The bad:
A re-paint, it was originally JJ1 Gold and they forgot to paint the engine bay. There are 2 bad spots, one on the tail gate, the other the passenger rear quarter where large pieces of paint have chipped off. The paint pieces are like 1/16" thick so it seems there was some bondo that maybe didn't bond. Behind these spots the metal has surface rust but otherwise appears ok. I'll be taking it to my body man tomorrow for an opinion.
I love the look of this wagon and really hoping with some work I can make it a nice driver.
