WIW - 1973 Plymouth Gran Fury

Not my question, but this was over on the B-Body forum...1973 Gran Fury coupe. Pretty nice-looking car! Nice colors, 360, no key. What do you guys think?

I would estimate it is worth around $5K if the engine will spin, which, given that it is in a garage and the air cleaner is on, should be the case. It would be nice to put a battery in it and momentarily jump the starter relay to see if it will turn - I would not spin it more than just a brief moment until more service could be done (it seems like it is in New Jersey possibly, where it can be pretty humid). And there is all the uncertainty over what the underneath looks like, probably having to go through the whole fuel system and we don't even know what the interior looks like. It would be helpful to know whether it "ran when parked" and why it was parked for so long.

Go get it! Hell, if that Fury were in central Oklahoma, I'd be writing about my newest find, with pics in my driveway!

I thought the same thing, but this one was not on CL. Without the word of mouth connection, you'd never have found it anyway.

Not what I'm saying. Be honest, we all look in every garage door that is remotely opened. Every back yard, behind every tree. Knowing an original C is sitting within a half mile from me that the owner doesn't want really torques my nuts

LOL, one guy on the B body forum thinks it'll bring in $10k on eBay...

I actually said if it's a true survivor at 60k to eBay it and 8-10 wouldn't suprise me.

What did you suggest 2-2500? Anything?

Like I told him I'd pay that in an instant because, to me, all the old Mopar's are priceless.

I don't know what it is, but I've been doing routine searches and never saw that ad.

That's the problem. Guy asks wiw when he had an idea of the value and has had an ad up for 10 days.

Couple things at play here but one of them is that I'm sure someone has went and seen it in person and it isn't a real survivor or as nice as expected.

Welcome to the C side. I'm laughing, because we have seen plenty of $10k C bodies pass through here, and never get sold. We just had a BB '73 New Yorker in similar condition and provenance listed here that didn't sell for $1500. Now it is a pile of sheet metal. Worth it? In my opinion any survivor/decent condition C is worth 10k. Would it sell at that price? Probably not, but now that it is on CL let's see what happens. I think $5500 is a fair asking price. Final sale price may fall between $3500 and $4k, and that would be my best guess.
