hello all!
hopefully someone with some Sonoramic Long Ram specific knowledge can chime in here...

True or False:
1. the AC compressor bracketry for all RB motors (413/440) is the same.

the reason im asking is im about to p/u a set of Sonoramic Long Ram manifolds and put them on my TNT 440 & AC equipped '66 Newport. its gonna be Multi Port EFI setup with headers and im looking to retain the AC as ive decided to use this car as my primary (i know right!) mode of transportation. talking to someone here @ Spring Fling earlier, i was told that even though they may have a slightly different shape over the the years, all AC brackets have identical mounting points/dimensions (Somoramic cars included) as long as you stay within engine families (ie B vs RB) because the blocks/heads are dimensionally identical as well. can anyone confirm this?

it sounds right and i can imagine the main locating mount being the same, but just not sure on the bracket that attaches from the back-side of the compressor to the top of the intake manifold due to differences in intake mainfold mounting flange thicknesses... thoughts anyone???

FiTech Fuel Injection might work just as well, better maybe even.

I don't know the A/C Long Ram question but:

Is this where your A/C mounts now?

Should clear as AC does on these 1961 300Gs.

Yo Joe,
nah - although i am a fan of the FiTech setup, TBI injection setups would still suffer the same issues as carb setups with these specific manifolds. using these manifolds to flow air only with the fuel injectors over by the heads is the best way to go.

on your compressor question, yep, i think it does mount there. ill have to verify that tomorrow when i go back to Spring Fling. There should be a few Sonoramic cars back there again.

thanks bud!
