What is everyone using for weatherstrip adhesive for the rubber that needs it? Also what should I use for trim holes that perforate the body panels? An example would be at the bottom of my C pillar where there is a trim piece that mounts there and the nuts are accessed from inside the car behind the sail panels. When I removed this trim, it had an almost hard like substance around the holes to prevent water intrusion. It wasn't pliable like silicon, but more like a hard seam sealant.

Probably a substance they call "dumdum" I'm not kidding on the name should be able to get it at a autobody supply place they use it to bolt on visors, roof racks, and such. 3M trim adhesive in tube, or super trim adhesive in spray can for rubber stick on stuff and vinyl roofs BEWARE make sure your paint is cured well 30+ days or heat cause these will lift fresh paint I KNOW THIS first hand and yes it sucks bad.

Thanks, and thanks for the tip on the fresh paint. I had planned on letting the car sit for two months, even though the body shop says I can do whatever I want right away. For the first couple months, I will just occupy my time with front and rear suspension.

I use 3M super adhesive period. Looks like yellow snot. The 3M spray works great with headliners but you have to read and follow the instructions on the can.

X3 on this. I used this when I restored my '66 Coronet in 1985. The trunk lid weatherstripping is fastened like I did the job yesterday.
