After market 440 hei distributor?

Don,t know much about that particular distributor. $60 seems a bit low. Its not that I'm against saving money but I would question its quality. The 440 has a taller deck than a 383 and uses a distributor with longer shaft. That distributor wont work in a 383.

Thanks Big_John!... I wonder if I am wasting my efforts sometimes... It was really great today that he figured out my quick module test... Now if I just remember my new rule that running problems start diagnosis by pulling spark plugs... maybe the cart wont pass the horse so often. I started with the quick module test because he thought he had a no spark...

Quality I can't speak for but if you are into having tuning ability and the top side guts to that thing are a carbon copy of a GM dist. there are a vast array of parts/tuning parts available for those. Will be kind of odd seeing a HEI cap on a Mopar but if that does not bother you.

I'm pretty sure that unless you're bumping compression this will be too hot a spark... too much trouble to be worth while... if you built a monster then I agree... the secondary parts are plentiful and cheap...

I had a converted HEI dizzy on my 360 in my 70 Sport fury years ago...worked like a charm, and I never had any issue. Didn't mind it on the small block because it was hidden at the back of the motor. I did buy a brand new HEI dizzy for my 440 in the wagon, but popped it in the hole and realized right away that it just looked "Wrong"! So it's been in the box for at least 5 years now.
