Some things don’t need to be improved upon and should be left alone.
 
I'm so overshooting the point here:
Carbon fiber as a look went out years ago in my opinion.
 
I guess if you’re into NASCAR, but I’d rather not drive a plastic car with 1000 HP on ANY New Jersey road.

That entire body probably only weighs about 400lbs or less and is far stronger than original steel. To me, that's amazing.
 
First, 3200 lbs isn't that light.... I got a '69 Roadrunner down to 3050 in drag race rim with steel fenders and doors along with full OEM glass and a mild steel roll cage. Granted, there was no interior or sound deadening and the front bumper was off. Running the light carbon fiber body means you lose the rigidity of the uni-body and now have to build a solid frame (read heavy) to make up for the loss of strength.

Looking at the video in the link that Stan posted, the inner structure of the car looks stock. That may be the original steel with the carbon fiber panels attached. Possibly the door jambs and cowl too.

And yea, the carbon fiber "look" is outdated. Fugly too... Geez... These fad looks come and go.. Seems like not that long ago the pro street guys were hacking up Camaros and Cudas left and right... Then the "suede" or flat paint look is still used on some crap rat rods because people can't paint. When I see it on anything else, it just looks stupid and like the owner doesn't understand it's not yesterday anymore.

I would be more impressed with this Charger if they went with a classic "custom" look. Shiny paint... lowered... nice wheels.. maybe some custom touches at the grille etc.
 
Call me petty, but I automatically get a negative reaction when people spell things incorrectly on purpose, like Speedkore, Happy Kamper, etc. I will say this looks better than that abomination that Dodge put together to launch the Hellephant. (I give Dodge a pass on the word Hellephant because it is a play on words and has historical significance. It's not just a dumb intentional misspelling.)
 
HATE to see the price tag to build that body, from concept to reality!

The 2019 GM full-size pickups use carbon fiber for all hinged body parts. Doors, hood, tail gate, etc. BUT it's painted to match the other panels and the finish is excellent. Other than the lightness (especially of the tail gate), there's no indication that it's not steel. A "non-metal" front bumper, is appears!

The car looks decent, but I'll concur, 3000lbs is not light. It's more A-body territory than normal B-body territory, though.

Might be interesting to see where this car pops up on the show circuit?

Sometimes, when a vehicle is lowered too much, it's accelerative performance goes south as there's not enough suspension travel to allow for weight transfer on the starting line. End result, "tire smoke" and little forward movement, by observation.
