1966 Chrysler Town and Country

Change the wheels and the daft exhaust and it would look so much better.

That’s gorgeous! I wouldn’t change a thing, at least not for a while anyway but I’d eventually gather the correct wheels and covers oh and probably would look killer with Magnum style roadwheels too.:D

I don't think I've ever seen buckets in a '66 T&C before. I've seen plenty in '65 New Yorker wagons, but not '66.

Swanky wagon, and I see handles on the back, which I THINK means it has the third seat! As far as non-original wheels go, we have seen a WHOLE lot worse than this. They are MOPAR rally wheels after all. I'd either gather originals, or replace these with Magnum 500 wheels; but wouldn't be embarrassed with what's on there. Never seen one with buckets, these were probably a special order. Would love to see what it goes for......

It's got front disc "off of a 66 cop car" according to the owner. If that's what I think it is, it means Budd disc brakes, and I want nothing to do with those.

Or just run with the Budd, what are you afraid of? They perform quite well.

And cost a boatload to service, if you can find parts, and the ball joints for a Budd car are 800 bucks a side. Pass.

Although if they've been serviced, they may have the stainless liners, so no mo fixin needed likely for your lifetime, and how many miles are you likely to put on that you're gonna wear out a lot of balljoints anyway?

I just bought a set of calipers from rock auto for 100 bucks apiece and new rotors which weren’t cheap but I also didn’t have to buy a whole Nother system and do the labor to convert it. Ball joints? My originals are still fine and I have some good used originals on standby if I absolutely needed them.

IMHO, the only reason for the price is greed and what the market will bear...
At that price the parts May sit on the shelf for many years

Main thing with Budd brakes is to make sure the calipers are brass/stainless lined (or is it "sleeved"), otherwise you shouldn't have to replace much.

That's good to know. I'll get more specifics. Only other concerns is that 440 bottom end is original, as is that tranny. Car has 97k on it.
