SO: 20-hour stand-off ends; man threatening suicide surrenders

At 7 p.m. Monday, Central Dispatch received a domestic disturbance call "during which one of the subjects was said to be suicidal," authorities said.

Units from the Highlands County Sheriff's Office
1. Crisis Negotiation Team,
2. the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit,
3. Crime Suppression Team,
4. Road Patrol
5. and other deputies....

secured the area in the Avon Park Lakes subdivision to coax the man out, the news release states.

There were no other people in the house during the stand-off and there were no evacuations required in the neighborhood.
