I can't imagine why someone would perform such an expensive restoration on such a low optioned Hurst with add-on a/c no less and then expect to get such a high price when done, when the market does not support such a price??? Between this seller and the other one wanting $100K for his original low mileage Hurst, I wonder how such people reason or if they look around at values at all before doing a listing? Rare does not automatically mean valuable:

the problem is: The 300 Hurst aren't even rare.
Even though only 485 are supposed to have been built, the survival rate is extremly high.
There is a registry which has more than the half of them listed (according to them) and I am sure a lot of people haven't listed their car. You can buy a 300 Hurst anytime. Usually there are always around 5 of them on the open market. Which is a big differnce to many cars which have been built in high numbers

My experiance is: Nice examples bring low 20s, drivers around 15k$, real nice ones 30k$

The seller of this 300 H is wrong in his Q&A section, a Hurst didn't come with Firestone RWLs but Polyglas GT tires in H70-15 (RWL). And they are NOT reproduced. A SFGT and 300 H only tire

As a lowly mopar/junky enthusiast I can only guess at what the motivations of these types are. Love to see if anybody coughs up 50gs for it though.

They are trawling for a whale. That's the only way I can rationalize it. They think some dude with a lot more dollars than sense will snap it up.

Question, seeing all these threads of C-bodies for sale makes me wonder if there was a thread about my Polara when I listed it last year. I'd love to see the comments!

Do a search. The C-Body For Sale forum goes back to 2010.

Yeah, not there. Surprised you guys missed it. Would have been funny to see the reactions to the description, the pics and the price. I wanna say I started it off around 8k and then lowered it to about 6.5k.

Glad I didn't get any bites. Enjoying the hell out of it these days.

This is the profile of who the seller hopes will bite.

Has gone through a bunch of GM's and Fords. Maybe even a Healy in there.
There was a 2 dr. Fuselage in the neighbors driveway when he was a kid.
Googles 1969 1970 1971 Chrysler
Pics of the 300H keep popping up.
He couldn't get it up last night.

Bang. Sold.

Impulse buy of a car to make up for failure to perform.
Expensive therapy.
Look at all the old, fat, sweaty, bald men at B-J wearing too-small, rumpled Hawaiian shirts thinking that their wallet makes them look like Brad Pitt to the blonde next to him later tonight.
My wife loves me more when I come home empty handed.

That's why I watch the raw live stream instead of TV.
One camera. From above the crowd. Pointing at the block. Only. No movement.
And only the actual auctioneer chant in the background.
Changes what you think about auctions.

Bidding went to $39k (if they are real bids) and didn't hit the reserve. I would say it is a $20k-$25k car.
