Another "New" Forward Look Time Capsule Coming out of the Woodwork

As owners of these cars continue to climb in age, it seems a lot of these real time capsules are coming out of the woodwork at what could be reasonably affordable prices due to declining demand:

This one is especially noteworthy. I wish it was a 2 door 1958 New Yorker instead of a 4 door Sarsatoga is all................ e.g. like the last photo in this post................

Beautiful 1958 Chrysler Saratoga - A Washington State Car its entire life until coming to New York in 2018. This is truly one of designer Virgil Exners best! In 2018 the car received; a new gas tank, new fuel lines, complete new brake system, including pre-bent lines, wheel cylinders, shoes, springs, master cylinder, new shocks, power brake unit rebuild, engine reseal, new radiator hoses, new belts, engine detail ,new tires, carburetor rebuilt, fluids changed, new carpet and new windshield. Im sure Ive forgot more! Over $30,000 invested! Older repaint that shows beautifully! Recently wet sanded and professionally buffed. You may find a few nicks and imperfections but its simply stunning! Runs and drives beautifully, incredibly smooth!! Everything seems to work properly, it is truly a pleasure to drive. Car currently shows 11780 miles. It was sold to me as true mileage. The service stickers in the door jamb support that showing low mileage in the 70's and 80's.

That's really nice. I thought all the Chrysler's had big blocks after the hemi went away. I guess not and learned something today.

1958, which is the year of this Saratoga, was the last year for the hemi, but those were put only in New Yorkers, Imperials and 300Ds.

no, all Chrysler got Hemis in the 1958 model year.
The 300, New Yorker and Imperials were the only ones that got the 392 but the others had, Hemis, too. Just smaller size

I assumed Dave meant the 392 Hemi, Carsten, but weren't the smaller hemis called polyspherical or "Polys"? I think those were also called semi-hemis because they didn't have the optimum valve arrangement for maximum airflow that also required the much wider heads.

Dodges, Desotos and Plymouths got the big blocks in 1958 in the LB (lower block) series (350 and 361 displacements) and the RB series big or "raised blocks" were introduced in the 1959 Chryslers starting with the 383s and the 413s. The big block 383s in 1959 used the RB configuration while the 1960 and later 383s used the LB configuration.

No that car clearly has the Spitfire engine which used poly heads, which are clearly the sawtooth type valve covers and the spark plugs are not down in tubes as with the Hemi. I know that the Hemi blocks are dimensionally the same as A engine, aka poly engine. That follows along with the Spitfire engine was a 354 as mentioned in the ad. I guess most of my confusion was that the Hemi went to 58
Poly's were designated single rocker shaft engines, Hemi's were double rocker shaft engines
There were 354 double rocker shaft engines 1955.

It has the three speed torque flight transmission, which is a big bonus. Also someone painted the hood springs black - they should be a flat red color; one of my small pet peeve, but I would not kick it out of the garage for dripping oil.
