Before I started restoration, I changed the old leaking single pin NSS switch to 3 pin and put brown wire to middle pin, as I recall, my reverse lights worked then. As of now, NSS works, car only starts in P or N. From the Forum search, I may need to check reverse light switch which is located in steering column somewhere....anyone have a pic of this location before I start taking stuff apart? Thanks, Kel

I wouldn't worry about it. You don't need reverse lights to pass inspection. I've been running for years without them.......

The switch is at the base of the column about 2" up. I'm not sure it is as simple as putting the different switch in the transmission, is there something in the trans to make the switch work? The later transmissions were designed with this in mind.

Still no luck with backup lights, I can't track down the switch in attached pic?

Column or console shift?

Console will be on the shifter in the console otherwise at the base of the column.
