I'm having a little bit of an "issue" with my car alarm. It is an Avital 3300l 2 way alarm. Has a double shock sensor on board and I have an additional hoodpin and glass break sensor installed (the one with a microphone). It's a DEI product.
My issue is, I seem to get an awful lot of false "warn away" alarms. I have the glass break sensor adjusted pretty decent so that it only goes off when you heavily rattle a set of keys onto the window.
The shock sensor is usually the more generous one which triggers some chirps on impacts or some loud exhausts driving by. Now, every early morning or late night, the thing starts with some warn away chirps and the remote starts beeping. I run to the car, aaand nothing. My wife things it's either someone messing with it and running away, or I have a mouse living in it!?
My Theorie ist, I got this solar charger plugged in and somehow the alarm notices the voltage drop at night and the voltage pickup in the morning when the sun comes out. I just can't find ANYTHING about this in any manual and google is not helpful either.
Does anyone have an alarm system and knows why it does that? I'm gonna try and turn down the shock sensor even more tomorrow but you already have to hit the car pretty hard in order to set it off (had a kid fall of the skateboard and slapping his hand onto the trunk the other day and that didn't set it off cause it's adjusted so low).
I'd rip the stuff back out but in an Apartment I like to have a security system, the car just starts to turn into the boy who cried wolf...
