Anyone recall seeing this car 4 sale?

I bought this 73 a few years ago and just curious of it’s history.
I know the car came from NY but thats all I know of its early life.
I bought the car from a member in NC and prior to that it was in Indiana for a short period?

As @71Polara383 pointed out, a JY9 Polara Custom like this one (but with different wheels than the OP's car) was for sale in Bluffton, IN back in March 2020. This said, an almost identical JY9 Polara with different wheels (DM43M3D263493) went up for sale in Hickory, NC in July 2021. It might be the same car, but I don't think so (a red sticker on the rear window seen in the 2020 sale is absent from the 2021 sale).

Bottom line: @rv2 -- please post the fender tag and more photos. To be sure that a car is the right one, that information is essential. I can then send you the info you requested, once I know which car we are talking about.

If you have more photos of your car, that would be helpful. The Bluffton, IN car to which @71Polara383 referred has a red sticker on the rear window (bottom, driver's side corner). I do not see it in the Hickory, NC ad -- but perhaps you know more about it? Same for the exhausts -- they are different (properly bent on the Indiana car, straight pipes on the Indiana car -- perhaps there is an explanation, if the exhaust was changed at the time). You would know, and can fill in:

Seems likely it's the same car, as noted it spent time in IN.

Forget the little red sticker, this one is a better confirmation (from the NC car) as compared to the IN photo above.
And if you look closely at the IN photo above, I think the hitch is there, hiding in teh shadows.

The red sticker is gone, the trailer hitch was added and the tailpipes redone to route around the hitch but that is the same car because they both have the same dealer sticker on the left rear of the trunklid.

I see the dealer logo, but that is not determinative given the poor redolution.

Did the seller tell you that he added the hitch and rerouted the pipes? If so then I think its 99.9% sure it’s the same car.

looks like the trailer plug is there but located further to the left under the outer most segment of the reverse light vs second segment on NC car. same car, different hitch.

Yes. Here is the ad info that I saved back in March 2020. I was in the process of acquiring Ming, my 1973 JA5 NYB, at the time, and it seems that I did not post about the car. I can't find a record of a thread about the car -- but perhaps my records are not complete.

"All original. Runs and drives great has only 40137 miles. Yes 40k only. New wiring, lines, brake booster, radiator, tires, 2 sets includes factory with original hub caps. New ac system. All new hoses and more. No rust paint interior and windows good everything works. 7500$. I have a video of it running."

The initial ask was $7.5k but the car was marked as sold for $5k. @71Polara383 may have more information about the car.

My recollection is that the car changed hands in late Winter 2020, from a young owner to another person who posted the above ad (half of the photos in the ad I posted above were from the younger seller's original ad).

@rags is correct. From the notes I have from March 2020, the car indeed had a hitch. Supposedly all mechanicals had been done. There was (IMHO) some questionable wiring on the drivers fender in newer photos (perhaps they added a radio or bypassed some fusible links or ?). There were some rust issues on rear quarters (that can be seen in the 2021 NC ad) and the doglegs (not shown), otherwise the car looked very good.

It would be great to see/hear more about the car from you, too! (you had started a thread back in 2021 here)

I have since cleaned up and removed that wiring.
I have also accumulated the original a/c components

If I ever commit a high-level felony, and there are some eyewitnesses and video, I want YOU @ayilar to be jury foreman and push that reasonable-doubt thing.
It's deteriorated a little in teh red circle, but the chances of 2 so-similar cars in the last few years with that sticker are surely near zero.
