Want to give a huge shout out to Bill aka "Traintech55". He went to look at a car I was considering purchasing and thanks to his honest and thorough description, I am passing on it. He saved me a great deal of time and aggravation in the process. I am certainly disappointed as the pics were obviously way better than the actual car turned out to be.
Hope I am not embarrassing you Bill but I wanted to publicly thank you for your time and effort!! Thanks Bill!!:thankyou:

I am not embarrassed John, and thank you very much.

OK now that you've got our interest what is the back story?
Looked at a car for a fellow member that was 3 miles from my house. Car was a great "Twenty Footer" but the pictures he was sent did not show problems that existed with it. Saved him an 800 mile trip.

Well Since you brought it up!! I TOO want to recognize a C Body member for certainly going "Above and Beyond" in assisting me with a Formal I was interested in. (Tom) AKA - Mr. Fixit took several Hours out of his Saturday to go and look at a 76 NYB for me that is in Canada about 1.2 hr from where he lives and (7) hrs away from where I live in NY, no to mention my having to cross the border. He met with the owner and took (115) pic and a Video of the car which revealed issues / challanges that I don't have the means to deal with. I will say though, The car Certainly is worth saving.

Thanks again Tom!! If there's ANYTHING I can do for you, Please feel free my friend.

Thank you also Mr. Fix It. As I have said before, this is a great site with a great bunch of members.

Surprisingly enough that sounds like the car I looked at on Saturday for 75LandYacht. the posted kijiji pics make the car look like a real catch but in person it is not what it is represented as.

I was very happy I could help out and save John the disappointment in person.
I disappointed him by internet! LOL!!

A lot of people have what I call "Flippers Disease" They think every old car out there will set them up for retirement. It is better to have us guys with experience check out these cars than to travel 600 - 1000 mile for a piece of junk.

A "flipping car" retirement is likely to be unemployed, broke and forever optimistic.
