This is more for Bob since he is Army. I am somewhat familiar with the battle as I knew someone who flew Huey's during this battle. He also flew during An Loc which started a few days after this battle. When I met him he was a Federal Correctional Officer and has since retired up in Sacramento. The story, here, is a direct first hand account by the Captain in charge at the time. This was posted in 2011and I never saw it. I saw it today because of the second comment at the bottom. It was a thank you by that Captain, retired Major, posted just yesterday. I do see that our Canadian Colonel posted just after him thanking him.

There's a few people on this board that served in Vietnam.

I won't call them out but invite them to share their story with us.

That always seems to happen every night around 10:00pm PST and no one knows why. I did just log in 5 minutes ago though. Your link is the same the only difference is the intro from another veteran who was at An Loc while the Captain was dealing with Loc Ninh. Seems the good Major posted his thank you from Bangkok 24 hours ago. My link also has a picture of the then Captain. Looks to be between 25-30 years old at most.
