Blue Angels and Thunderbirds Fly Together Over New York City

Cant wait for them to show up in phx
@Dylan Galvin, did you miss the flyover from Luke yesterday? Was pretty awesome. Here's some pictures I took from up on my roof.

Awesome! Wonder how much that cost the taxpayer?

Just some food for thought.
The planes need to be flown and checked periodically anyway. The pilots need to stay sharp and keep their certifications current in order to fly them. If they didn't do these flyover's over these areas, they'd be doing them over over the desert somewhere where no one could see them.
To me it's very cool that they're doing it this way and I don't believe it's costing any more than a normal training or check ride.
Just my opinion.

I appreciate your insight. I do understand the ongoing need to train and stay on their "A" game at the same time instilling confidence, a sense of purpose and patriotism by conducting the fly-bys. The sight and sound of our military gives me goosebumps and chills. The pilots and ground support are the best in the world, that cannot be argued. Guess at this time and the financial hole we are digging for future generations caught me at a bad time. I, as we all do, support our troops 100% Thank you

Being a DC native, I have become skeptical about these military spectacles (I'm also a veteran, and have earned the right to call them that, BTW) but it REALLY WAS.....REALLY COOL...to see that formation fly over town on Saturday. Have seen both Blue Angels and Thunderbirds numerous times; but not TOGETHER in a single formation. Only down side was that I heard it encouraged people to flaunt the distancing guidelines and congregate on the mall. As far as costs go, while not cheap, these squadrons are VERY effective for recruiting, pilots or otherwise.

Nothing more than a normal day.

Your spot on about any normal training day. We launched bombers every day of the week for the two reasons listed above to keep the planes operational and the crews sharp. It also keeps the maintainers on their game keeping the planes up.

Here's the bird I used to maintain.

Four of the same engines as in an F-16, but with a couple of more stages of afterburner.
