Body putty?

I’ve got my ‘64 K completely disassembled and I’m almost finished welding in patches. When they built the car they ran body putty along all the seams…even the seams that weren’t tight. I’ve found a couple spots where, if not for the putty, the car would have leaked. So should I just re-putty the seams or would body filler be a better idea?

"Seam sealer" rather than "putty"? Different products for different places and uses. Might you also be encountering some lead filler?

Use seam sealer, body filler is porous. 3m is junk, I use Eastwood:
