For anyone who is having a bug problem in his garage, I thought this might help. This year I’ve had a big infestation of grasshoppers. I guess they go out under the siding to forage for food during the day and then come into the garage at night for a safe place to sleep. The problem is that it’s generally annoying to see them hopping around, and they leave little grasshopper turds everywhere. I bought a box of 4 JT Eaton Pest Catchers, #844 on ebay. They are large bug pest catchers, particularly for grasshoppers, roaches, and spiders. I put 2 out in the garage and caught a whole bunch of grasshoppers and small beetles which I threw into the trash. Today I put 4 more of the pest catchers in the garage. I hope to wipe out the rest of the grasshopper population before the fall. If you’re having a bug problem in your garage, these might be the solution. I didn’t really care about the Spanish writing on the box, despite the fact that I don’t speak Spanish. I just think that for $8.74 including shipping, they are a cheap and effective solution. Hope this helps somebody, Ben

We had an issue with stink bugs. Those little bastards invaded us last year and this year they were even worse. I just found out this past week that if you crush one, they release a scent that brings even more stink bugs. The garage got hit pretty bad, and they would hang out on the rafters and crap on the car. I'd have these little black spots all over the car.

Everything I read about getting rid of them involved water traps and junk like that. They said they weren't attracted to UV lights like other bugs, but I decided to try a bug zapper anyway.... The "experts" were wrong... I have a small bug zapper that I bought at Walmart that took care of the problem. It hangs in the center of my garage and it's killed most of them. It's even gotten very rare to see one in the house now.

We have a drafty house that is over 100 years old. Those damn things seem to just walk in whenever they want. Curtains get cleaned around once a season. Every single time, especially fall, they just take up residence in them and are really annoying when you start moving things around, and they start appearing as if from nowhere.

Yea, once they are in, they are tough to get rid of.

They've only been in the country for twenty years. Brown marmorated stink bug - Wikipedia

Wiki also says they came to Germany about ten or fifteen years ago, however I remember stinking bugs eversince childhood from 4 decades ago, maybe some other species, at least to me they look and probably smell the same.

I*m surprised no one came up with that lame VW Bug in the Garage joke up till now.
