I'm working on a build sheet guide specific to 1970 Sport Fury's and I'm going to post questions here that I have.

First Question (I will have more) : What plants were sport furys assembled in? Mine is an F.
A Lynch Road, MI, USA

B Hamtramck, MI, USA

C Jefferson, MI, USA

D Belvedere, IL, USA

E Los Angles, CA, USA

F Newark, DE, USA

G St. Louis, MO, USA

H New Stanton, PA, USA

R Windsor, Ontario, Canada

OK maybe I should ask if the Sport Fury owners can post the 7th character of their VIN. This would be the plant code.

Thanks

Anyone have a B for Hamtramck? I have a build sheet that I’m using to aid me in making a decoder guide and it has a 2 in the plant code? This build sheet was in my Sport Fury but isn’t correct for my car. The VIN on my car and this build sheet are way off so I don’t think it was a factory mistake, I think someone swapped the seats out from another car. I’m wondering if the 2 is a misprint and is for Hamtramck because that is what they used before 1969 when they went to the letters for plant codes.

Hamtramck produced Barracuda, Challenger, Charger and Dart in 1970.
I'm sure there has to be another model or two but I do not think there were any C bodies produced at the Hamtramck plant in 70-78.

Belvedere used a "2" for the assembly plant code on the broadcast sheet. I don't know if all Belvedere cars were like that.

Windsor Canada "R" also built Sport Furys in 1970 for part of the year.

Then theres Newark Delaware "F"

I think most '70 Darts came from Windsor. I can't recall one from Hamtramck. Hamtramck was producing the Duster and maybe Valiants that year as far as A-bodies are concerned.

I'm working thru the details on the broadcast sheet and starting to get stuck on some of the codes. Some of the codes are standard codes for all the plants and easy to figure out. Some codes are the last digits of the part numbers so I'm figuring them out by looking them up in the parts book. Some of the codes were specific to each plant and this is where I'm starting to struggle a bit. Anyone that wants to help out by sending me a picture of your sheet please send me a PM. I will also post the question I have on here.

Other than Windsor plant specific coding, what, if any, differences are you seeing between Belvidere and Newark codes?
