Burnout

Too funny, what a dumbass, leave the burnout to cars that can do them like our c-bodies.

This is our local Mopar mechanic. He puts on a good show. He also has a 68 Monaco, but won't do that with it.

I've been doing burnouts since 1969....starting with my Dad's Mopar station wagons. LOL!

Yeah, but what fun!!! Several years ago, I was at a car show that also had a burnout contest that was actually sponsored by the local police department. A guy rolls up in a former cop car Impala and proceeds to light them up. After about a minute or so, both rear tires exploded off the car. Very cool display of just destroying something because sometimes, it's just plain 'ol FUN!

The way the burnouts were set up was that the car was sitting in a "slot" of sorts, bounded front and both sides by concrete Jersey berms. This keeps a particpant from shooting off into the crowd, and keeps any tire shrapnel relatively contained. And of course, a truck to pull a car off, just in case a transmission or tire(s) failed.

Noting like wanton destruction of tires! The really fun part? This was next to a golf course!

What's your fascination with destruction???
Is this a testosterone thing?
