Took my '68 fast top to a local show last weekend. Lots of fun, some great Mopars there. I was parked a couple spots over from a stunning grayish (pearl?) '66 Fury with a Hemi transplant that I think has been mentioned here before.

There was another '68 Fury that showed up later, so I don't have a pic, but it was light blue with a white top (regular hard top, not fast top) and a Dart/Super Bee-style double stripe around the rear. Sacrilege to some, I suppose, but I thought the car wore it well.

That's what makes our presence at car shows all the more satisfying to me.. They don't have the same mass turn out as the other bodied Mopar's

We all Uni-Que!:laughing4:

Dam I knew I should have taken mine. I'm always the only 300 convertible.

Believe it or not there was one there, white or cream '67 with a black interior. There was a fair amount of dust in the nooks and crannies and a mild patina on it... looked like it really did just get discovered in a barn. Too bad the flippers have made this sound cheesy, but it looked like a real survivor.

Also, not a C body but a nice '55 Hemi 300.

That '66 Hemi Fury may be the nicest C body I've ever seen in person. Just beautifully done, very professional and clean, updated and somewhat resto-modded but in a very subtle way. I believe it was built by someone here on the forum, a Houston guy (Greg? Gary? something like that) before being purchased by the current owner.

My ole girl, the black '68, got some ok attention until the Blue Angels Charger parked next to it, and no one looked at it again after that... :)

Now I'm really sad lol. There is a 69 running around in Austin so I think I still have the only 68 convertible. Have to go to cabeelas on sat nights. Never another cbody there. People either love my car or pick on it either way she is unique!

Stan it is the same one from E-bay that sold for 33k stolen IMO fuel injected 528" Hemi, the builder said he spent over twice the $$$ to build it.

I think the color hurts the car, at least on camera, and the tinted windows makes it hard to appreciate the interior. The wheel choice is better now. but all in all MINE is Nicer :tiphat::tiphat::tiphat::poke::poke:

Greg built the 66 fury vip model. I met Greg in person when I drove down to Houston,Tx to buy my 440 from him. He did a ton of work to that car. No corners were cut. He had over 33K just in the engine!!

My other parts customer/friend Rat Ates owns the 68 fury 2 door hardtop baby blue color with the white stripes. He lives local to the Austin/round rock area. I went to the show last year. I couldn't make it this year........ There where 3 68 fury's last year. My 68 fast top, my friends 68 4 door sedan. And my friends 68 2 door conv. factory 440 car. All are parts customers, and friends of mine.

My lord, that 66 is sick and beautiful. Did you guys check out the ebay link that Henry posted? If not here are a few pictures of the Hemi..! Car is amazing.!!

Too bad the other '68s weren't there this time! Is that Ray with the striped car? Yes, I met him, and his brother (Jason I think?) who had a beat-up sleeper early 70s Chevy 4-door with a nice 400 in it.

He does incredible work. It is just mind-blowing all around. The paint color is such an interesting choice; I would not normally be into a pearl or pinkish paint color but in person I loved it. It is one of those colors that shifts as the light changes or as you walk around... looks full gray one minute, then sort of brownish the next, then kind of subtle purple/maroon the next. And the most amazing thing about the paint is that the color is supposed to be the original color for the car, not some new high-tech special mix.

Your 68 is definitely the coolest car at the show to me

If you can there's an all Mopar show in Oct at the Ancira Chrysler on Ih10/Huebner in San Antonio,Tx that my friends and I go to. I can keep you posted on the date if your interested.
