Every two years the California Highway Patrol Academy host a Retirees day and typicaly have a few display cars, this year they chose to have a show. There were about 35 cars, a 66, 69, two 71's and a 74 along with a bunch of Mustangs. The only other Mopar was a 77 Coronet.

My friends 69 along side a 70 Mercury Monterey that is owned by the Academy.

WOW........!!!! That is an awesome lineup. I bet that when the show lets out ..... there are some real law abiding citizens around there.
Thanks for sharing ....

I saw an x copper top locally here a few weeks back and they had to have a canvas cover on the lights as they drove along the road that indicated on the canvas that they were not a cop car..

Same here in Alabama. Any police oriented markings and/or flashing light fixtures have to be covered or removed to drive on the hwy's. OK to display though.

Most owners here in California cover up lights and graphics. We also run "NOT IN SERVICE" signs in the windows, these are signs that are put in cars (current active units) when non sworn personnel (ie mechanics) are driving them.

In general when we are on the highway people fly by us like we were driving a Yugo. At night some will slow at first then take off once the see it is an older car and the signs.
