How, with so many people who appreciate these cars and seek them out, do they still fall into the hands of undereducated $hitheads??? It hurts my brain.

Because unfortunately they don't waffle and show up with the cash, whereas we talk about them while they are being bought up. That combined with the fact that we can each only save a few within our means, allows the "pocket full of cash with no car" guys to scoop them up.

Sad thing is us buying parts from the derby guys furthers there derby mentality. They have this preconceived notion that if they buy a clean c body and sell the guts to us mopar guys they'll get basically a free car. I don't care what they have. I don't care how bad I could use it or need it. I refuse to buy from them. Why do you think they join these boards? It's to pimp there discarded parts. And don't dare ask them for body sheet metal, or bumpers. They consider them gold. That's my story, and I'am sticking to it.

Nice car. With a little patience, can't you get a title at most DMVs?

Yep CO will reissue. We had to go through the process when my wife acquired her grandfathers car. Since it hadn't been registered in CO for more than 10 years they pulled it from record and couldn't get a simple duplicate title. We submitted a search and later that day they issued a new title. I think it was like $75.

Washington state will issue a new title if you 'lose' your old one for whatever reason.

Sounds like a stolen car to me... He will by no means that the authorities take knowledge about this car...

Might be stolen. But might be any other simpler explanations. Get a bill of sale, see if he's got a bill of sale from the last guy. Get his driver's license copied, and you're covered legally.

You could be out your purchase price if it is stolen, but if I were into Mopars of this era, that would be a pretty good risk to take for a really straight, really complete car. Or, if you're a flipper, you could buy it for $1000, clean it up, and probably triple (or more) your money pretty quickly.

I just bought a bunch of spares from a blue 67 New Yorker 4-door hard top that the seller derbied. He wished he could have sold the car but no one showed any interest in it. That's the problem, unfortunately.

Try finding a brake booster for a 1977 or 1978 C-Body........

You will only get one from a donor car......period!!!

"Do not call expecting to be provided a title. I will drive it to the crusher first before that. Parts or Demo Derby. You choose. This is the car you've been looking for as drivetrain parts or a fierce Demo Derby competitor. This thing is ready to destroy rust buckets."

I say we go get him!! :chain saw:

I have thought about going to get it, if the VIN survives a history check. A repo it may be. If there's a lien,it's worthless.
Those two door 74's are scarce.
