This weekend is the annual local "big" car show. My first chance to show the Fury since I repainted it. Been putting together some things for presentation. Since my car is a 1966 Fury, I got some time era magazines, Life - cover is the University of Texas tower sniper shootings. Playboy - features The girls of Texas. SI - Cassius Clay. I'll lay them out in trunk or back seat. The photo book I got from Walgreens, was $35, do it all online, drop & drag, books are ready in about 2 hours. I also put a DVD together that has trailers and long scenes from Bullitt, Vanishing Point, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry, Gone in 60 seconds. I'm rigging up a couple lawn mower batteries to play the movies in a loop.

A show winner in my book!

Very cool stuff.

I don't mean to be the downer of the group, but I'm not a big fan of "props" at car shows. I prefer to just show the car and let it speak for itself. The only items I may present is a reproduction of the Window Sticker when I show my '64 Goat and the VIN/Fender Tag Decode I got from Chrysler Historical for my '65 300 'vert. Other than that, I shy away from displaying photos of the restoration, magazine articles of my cars and period pieces. Just my 2 cents.

I have a few display items we carry in Jazebelle everywhere she goes. A Hula girl bobble gets placed on the dash, a Beach guide on the seat or console and three inflatable "pink flamingo" cup holders on the boot. (In a light breeze they move around like their swimming). I also sometimes display the 1969 Chrysler Imperial dealer album I have.

I like it. Personally i think the tv is a little over the top... But to each his own.

Sometimes I'll throw a 1:18 scale model of the blumo on the hood, and a couple greenlight models on the dash. The kids LOVE seeing those. Sometimes I think the toys get more attention then the car itself lol.

I've printed out some buisness cards that are seen in the movie (murph, and the magic tones, mr mercers card, ect) and hope to hand those out if the car ever sees the road again!

I put a bunch of beer dist magnets on my Challenger that Blossor's gave me in Carlisle all but one were gone by Sat night, I'm asking for more and a discount this year lol.

I agree, a TV would be over the top, even for me. The movie will be played through my stereo...

I have no idea. Over here in Europe I seem to remember that the GIs at US car Shows were the ones who spread this "desease" in the 90s . Maybe Bob NYB can shed some light on this. ;)

Here are the Mopars that were there. There was a Cuda and Hellcat also. The Coronet had a For Sale sign, but no other info.
