For my Hurst 300
Solenoid next
Who did it?
Bolt it down carefully. I spent a kings ransom last year on my 1970 Carter and one of the mounting tabs snapped while presumably over tightening....
Yours looks great, did you do it yourself?
im carful, yes restoring everything myself

I am glad you said presumably, as that seems very unlikely. I have never had that happen on one of my AVS carbs and I do thighten them fairly snug but not crazy snug. Perhaps a defect or previous damage seems more likely.
I sent the carb out Steve to a reputable place in North Jersey. I paid the extra money to have it plated, this carb was beautiful. They go through all aspects of the carburetor including making sure the base is true, if not they will make it true. Once done , they install it on a machine and set it up to stock factory specs. They make sure all is correct before they send it out.
I had installed mine and felt it wasnt seating correct as I had a vacuum leak. I removed the carb, replaced the gasket and put the carb back on. I was alternating bolts while making it snug when "pop". I thought I snapped a stud in the manifold..... worse. I snapped the mounting tab off the carb.
