Has anyone installed a cell phone repeater?
I am looking to install one in my shop.
The shop is a ~100’ x 40’ all metal building (like a Morton brand) and I get pathetic to no cell signal inside it, even with the doors open.
I looked up where the nearest cell tower is and it’s about 4-1/4 miles from my place (as the crow flies).

I have looked online and this one, by Weboost looks good, but I would appreciate any feedback and experience you souls have to share...

I can’t answer your whole question, but here’s my experience with a system like that. I had poor service in my basement which drained my battery, so I bought one from Verizon. It utilized a gps antenna and the internet to create a cellar “tower “.
So if you don’t have internet out there that style may not work.
Issues I had with it:
No way to upgrade the firmware. It was either 2G or 3G. As the system switched to 4 G Lte it would no longer work. It would would also be an issue in about 4 years as towers switch to 5G. However at that time the phones added voice over internet, so as long as I had internet through out the house, I didn’t need it anymore.

I also extended internet to my garage using this system from Ubiquity. It basically creates a specific wi-fi path for each direction and acts like running a hard wire. They can mount outside and transmit line of sight over 1/4 mile. Maybe more. Then I added another WiFi router in my garage as a bridge with the same network name. Both cell phone and internet work out there.
I can even stream Netflix out there.
You do need a pair of them.

They even have faster ones now.

Even though I could mount them outside, I just used a suction cup mount and put them on the window.

Thank you.
I presently have Hughenet and it’s not good.
I believe that I can get internet from the local cable / landline provider and will likely switch to them next year.
I have a set of google WiFi repeaters that gets internet into the shop.
I am seeking cell signal in the shop and while the device that you have shared would probably work, I am unsure if it’s what I would prefer.
Time to do some more homework!

Just make sure if you get a cell repeater it is at least 4G lte as 3G towers are mostly converted now and have less than a year left. I had to upgrade my Father-in-law’s cell phone because it will no longer work in about a month.
Even just outside Fargo, my cell service in my house is only 1-2 bars. If not for the voice over internet or I would miss or drop 1/2 my calls.
