Check this out....amazing technology

Had my own scenarios exactly like the ones in the video waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many times. I changed a lot of underwear.

I had an old lady suffering from dementia do that to me a few years ago, thankfully she wasn't driving a truck.

Highly doubt it.
Plus it wasn't a conventional tractor trailer setup that is typical here in the states.

Most testing is done at GVW and VCW. We do private industry testing at APG too.

Well thats why I said it, of course its not. Put that in East Coast traffic, loaded, and east coast drivers all around, your running his *** over. They did get the slow car in the middle lane part right

Gross Vehicle Weight (maximum load) and Vehicle Curb Weight (empty).

Back in the 70's, a company that was developing ABS for tractor trailers asked my company to put it into the fleet for real world testing. The first time I got into that tractor with that extremely primitive pos system, I approached a red light in heavy traffic. Road sand deactivated the brakes and I blew the red light and sailed right out into the intersection. Brought that truck back and refused to ever get in it again.

Incidently, when I retired 35 years later, no company had yet to come up with an ABS for tractor trailers that worked. It's for straight trucks only.

The truck most likely was not "fully loaded" with cargo/freight/deadweight or whatever you want to call it. I would think just being able to stop the weight of the truck itself would be an accomplishment..anyways I believe it's stil in development stages. Nothing agiant truckers but some of them got no business on the road either being reckless in driving or not meeting operating requirements or both.

You're absolutely correct. I'm disgusted with what I see out there now. Makes me sick. The entire American workforce has been displaced by......
Never mind. It's just not worth it anymore.

FWIW, when I'm beside a rig and I look up into the cab at what's behind the wheel, the world would be safer with a trained chimpanzee in there.

Frankly, that is not the first thing I notice when I look up up into a big rig cab,.....a slob driver is a slob driver, seen all shapes, sizes, and colors of those kind.....even seen a few girlies up there behind that big ol wheel....cowboy hats and all, lol. There are still a few good truckers out there however, don't mean to trash all of them.

Both retired now at best. I loved this scrap book "Trucks and Truckers" as a kid.

Truckin........

One of the most fun jobs I had was driving this rig for the Jarrett-Farve driving adventure from 1999 to 2003.

I am happy to see a cowboy hat behind the wheel, its when I see a turban that I get slightly annoyed
