Chev parts in Plymouth?

Cleaning up shop and came across this radio delete plate. It was in a 71 plymouth fury . Numbers on back only reference to a 68-72 nova and corvette. The bracket joining them looks factory. Just found it odd if it was put on at the factory

It looks kind of odd that the factory would use two pieces clamped together like that. They usually do whatever is the cheapest in most cases.
 
The stock radio and heater delete plates have Mopar numbers on them.
 
Typically the dash bezel on the C-Body just don't have a radio opening, there is a part number for this (at least I think it is) 3501003.
It would just have a hole for the heater control.
