Hello.

I have a 1983 Chrysler Imperial that I recently finished repairing after a tree fell on it.

I need an 8¼ differential with 2:71 gears.

The old one broke in half because of the jack stands that were holding it off of the ground.

Yes, that is the OEM rear differential.

Right now, I'm using a 9¼ just so it's driveable but, my fuel economy is trash with a 3:55 ratio and I can't get anywhere near the 31mpg highway that I was getting.

I'm running a Chrysler inline six cylinder but, my mileage is close to that of my 1985 318 Dodge pickup, now.

Just so you know: No, it is not a slant six.
It is a 265 cubic inch Australian Chrysler straight six.

I have 1 available from a 73 Plymouth fury 8.25 with 2.71 gears. I am in the San Antonio TX area
 
The diff is 100%. The drums are gone and the brake strut/parking spreaders. It has complete housing, diff, backing plates.

Wish I could. I don't have a camera but it looks like any 1983 Imperial 2 door. It's metallic copper and cream two-tone, like my Dodge D150 that I borrowed the rear end from.

Probably better off that way, these damn cell phones are poison.
I've had the computer since the early 2000's.

It's a Compaq Presario 5000 running Windows Vista, since Windows 98 crapped out.

I had to change some of the drivers and some hardware but, aside from that, you can't tell that it's not original unless you're an electronic specialist.

On that E49 Hemi 6, I selected long engine only because I make my own intake manifolds.

Usually with internally polished stainless steel tubing that I heat up and shape to suit my needs.

The carb flange seats are machined cast bronze.

Before I cast the stainless tubing into the bronze, I tack weld spots on the tubing so that it can't ever pull out.

Also, after the bronze cools, I throw the whole thing into a mix of oil and diesel anti-gel that I run through a cooler in a freezer.

The oil bucket isn't in the freezer, just the cooler, fan and lines going to the cooler.

I usually run a cold oil quench, like that, for hardening steel for knife blades before tempering.

If you look at the front end styling of that generation Imperial, a V-8 just doesn't look right under that hood design when you open it.

I opened the hood after buying it and was disappointed when it didn't, at least, have a slant 6.
