I found this Chrysler wristwatch on ebay, picked it up pretty cheap. Would anyone know anything about it? Is it a promo watch or a years of service watch? I know nothing about it other than I thought it was pretty cool.

I would bet it was for a Chrysler zone rep or maybe give aways from the zone reps.

A service watch is usually engraved (I have my Dad's Movado for 25 years at Lipe Rollway) and since there's no name brand on the face, that lends itself to being an inexpensive watch.

Nice piece though. I like it.

Movados are excellent watches (I have an early 60's KingMatic). A company that gave THOSE out must have been a class act.......

I think it was more about my Dad. I think they didn't give those to everyone. He did a lot for the company.

1968 vintage

anyone's come across another Philadelphia Zone watch since then??? I'm really curious if there were any variations in the design or inscription over the years. Did anyone ever dig up production numbers or company records tied to these? Would love to hear more examples if others have run into them.

well, I’ve seen similar Chrysler watches pop up from time to time, but info is always super limited unless someone has the original paperwork.

If you're into collectible watches and looking for something slick to wear with your Mopar gear, this looks fun. I recently found https://bestrolexfactory.com/shop/clean-factory-rolex-submariner-126613ln/ and thought it’d be cool to pair a sharp modern piece with vintage auto stuff. Mix of old and new works great.
