Looking for recommendations for a good accurate appraiser. I don't trust the appraiser of the insurance company that the hit and run driver has. I don't feel the quote will be accurate to the condition the car was in before it was wrecked. And taking into account the options it has.

I'm in the Kansas City metro area. On the Kansas side.

An agreed value policy with Hagarty is a no questions asked settlement in a short time. They pay you and then go after the other driver. Reasonable rates too.

I think what you might need is a "diminished value" appraisal. From talking to a friend that does classic car appraisals, that can be a difficult one to do with a wrecked car.

Not being in that area, I have no idea who to go to except to do a google search. I came up with this one (and noted the email address) Classic Auto Appraisals | Fast & Reliable Appraisal Service, Kansas City and this one K.C. Auto Appraisal | Certified Auto Appraisals in Kansas City and Surrounding Areas

Their services aren't going to be cheap. Keep that in mind that if you are looking to squeeze another $500 out of the insurance company, paying $500 to an appraiser is going to be a wash at best.

I wish you luck.

I'm just trying to get a estimated value on the car before it was wrecked. You can tell how clean the car is before the wreck. No rust on the car. No dents except for one that was previously in the tailgate.

An appraiser will only give you an estimate of how the car sits now. They will not put anything in writing about what the car "may have been worth" prior to the accident. The insurance company wouldn't accept that anyway.
