Concept cars

Chrysler Turbine design was one of my favourites. Some of those early vette designs would have been a better bet than what they ended up with.

I seen this one at the Chrysler Museum...

Not very difficult to see where Chrysler Corp. wanted to be at the beginning of the 21st century. Unfortunately OPEC happened. What a future it could have been.

A lot of (most) prototypes ended up that way...the car I took pictures of survived is still in the museum today.

That did suck!

Yes, but not that late after their existence.

Most were crushed soon after the project/concept was killed. They did keep a few like the one I took pictures of that are currently in the museum. Some Chrysler concept cars didn't have a single one survive.

I hate how cars are designed today. IMHO automobiles could have been way cooler had outside influences like OPEC/Japanese not exert such a huge impact/influence.

Like the turbine bronce color. Still have some old Jo-Han model kit of the Turbine Car laying around from a flee market, but there were parts missing. :BangHead:

Yes, the "Norseman". Cars from the fifties had some of the hokiest names ever conceived. Good thing it went down with the ship. A truly ugly car.

I've not met one ricer who does not have a ravenous and intense disdain for any american car from the 50's....ANY american car, period. That said, the "Norseman" is/was truly ugly. Exner or one of his proteges went completely overboard with the design. The only saving grace might be the cantilever design of the roof which was ahead of its time....they must of had a few minutes of pure sobriety when conceiving that part of the car....then it was back to the hideous realm of elongated wings and fins, eyebrows and plain old unadulterated "kitch".
